Meet Our Namesake
Carol and Dave Cassler spent years working in the industry before opening their own restaurant in 2003. Dave served as head chef until 2022, when he stepped back into partial retirement after decades of creating many beloved dishes—most notably his famous fettuccini alfredo, which Carol always joked was one of the reasons she married him. Carol, who managed the front of the house and built a reputation as a creative mixologist known for her unique cocktail specials, retired in 2016. Together, they built a restaurant that reflects their passion, talent, and dedication to hospitality.
Lauren's Journey
Lauren Cassler is the daughter of Carol and Dave. She had never intended to manage the business when she went off to college, but upon returning home, she worked her way into the managerial role and started taking more responsibilities as her parents began transitioning to retirement. Lauren is passionate about providing a fun and welcoming environment for everyone who steps through the doors at Carol & Dave's Roadhouse.
Our Space
Showcasing the region's rich history was at the top of founder Dave Cassler’s to-do list when starting the restaurant. Our space features a variety of Ligonier and West Pennsylvania artifacts and many fixtures were repurposed from the local community. With our beautiful decor and stunning outdoor views, Carol & Dave's boasts a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
Surround Yourself with History in our Main Dining Room
The Main Dining Room showcases a warm fireplace, an elegant chandelier, and offers an array of architectural elements, creating an ideal setting for your next dining experience. It displays a map of Westmoreland County from 1857, along with various other historical items from the area, illustrating the evolution of the Pittsburgh region over time.

Our bar features TVs for your entertainment and our skilled bartenders provide refreshing craft beers and creative cocktails that elevate any meal.
Discover our Charming Railroad Room
This cozy space showcases a number of historical photographs and newspaper articles related to the railroad that once operated in Ligonier. Many thanks to the Ligonier Railroad Association for supplying these unique pieces!
Dine Al Fresco on Our Covered Patio
We offer outdoor seating from late spring until fall on our shaded patio, decorated with vibrant greenery and sparkling lights. It’s an ideal place to bask in the sun while savoring your favorite meals from Carol & Dave’s! This space is pet-friendly, but we kindly request that all dog owners keep their pets leashed.

Our Sun Room is a bright and airy space, perfect for gatherings and celebrations. With large windows that let in natural light, it creates a welcoming atmosphere for you and your loved ones.
